Sump Pump Installation Tips
Sump pump installation is generally done in the lowest part of a basement or crawlspace. It has one function, and that is to help keep an area under the property dry and stop flooding. A sump pump is installed within a specially designed sump pit. Excess water flows into this, and its main job is to remove the water from the pit and away from the foundation.
Sump pumps are generally powered by electricity and will run off a regular household current, so they will not require any specialized wiring other than an outlet. Because a sump pump is located in or near water, it is a good idea to have a GFCI, ground fault circuit interrupter on the outlet to avoid any accidental electrocution.
